The story of MURCO
WALL PRODUCTS is a tribute to the success of a family owned and operated
business.
In 1971, Bud Murphy combined his long experience in drywall and paint industry
with a lifelong desire to establish a business that could be shared with family
members. Starting with a shoe string budget, a work force consisting of a young
son in college and an entire family willing to work for the future success of
the business, he gained the trust and respect of major suppliers and others.
With this, MURCO WALL PRODUCTS opened for business in a small building on Belt
Line Road in Irving, Texas.
Today, with plants in Fort Worth, Texas; Houston, Texas; Buckeye, Arizona;
Florence, Colorado; along with several retail stores, MURCO WALL PRODUCTS is a
leading manufacturer and supplier of drywall materials, paint products, tools
and equipment to dealers and contractors throughout the United States.
MURCO relies on word-of-mouth advertising for new sales and repeat business from
satisfied customers. To this they attribute the company's steady growth in
annual sales.
Superior quality is the standard. MURCO assumes direct accountability to its
customers for product quality. When MURCO is your preferred supplier, you get

MURCO offers a full line of quality joint compounds and texture products in dry
powdered form or pre-mixed. Both types feature plasticity that provides a
quality controlled application assuring excellent results. All MURCO joint
compounds conform to ASTM specification No. C475 and federal specification No.
SS-J-570a.
MURCO is not a newcomer to paint manufacturing. A complete line of quality
interior, exterior, and industrial paints as well as stains and primers is
available in a wide range of finishes.
To insure quality, MURCO is involved in the mining of raw materials at the
Buckeye, Arizona, plant, the manufacture of corner metal in Houston, Texas, and
the design, development and manufacture of durable, top quality mechanical
taping systems at the Fort Worth, Texas, plant.
